How did you work over the last two weeks to address the five step plan you laid out in Blog Post #6? If you haven't made progress, explain why. Explain how you will make the progress you need to make.
I have not done very much over the last two weeks. I have researched having a shop on Etsy, a site that allows an individual to sell homemade items. I looked into prices of listing and methods of payment. I think this might be a good way to help fund the thing I'm trying to accomplish and also need to start devoting more time towards. I haven't made as much progress as I could because I don't have the resources to have a class at this point, but I still think about the end product. I need to focus on the task at hand, which is acquiring sewing machines so interested people who take the class I hope to have can have something to work on. I have started thinking about details, such as how many classes I will have and what I will teach. I am thinking about ways to get the word out as well. An idea I have about who to teach the class to is to target our local girl scout troops. I think I will want to do at least three or four lessons, starting out slow with sewing by hand being the focus. Girls can pair up on sewing machines in the next lessons. Another advantage of teaching the girl scouts is that I will have many parents to help out. The parents don't know much about sewing, but the extra hands will make a difference. I will make the progress I need to make by talking to someone in charge at the Creation Station and the leader of the Girl Scout troop, just to look at my options of what I can do.
