Read the article "How Geniuses Think." Respond to the following: Describe the author's interpretation of Genius and how it differs from conventional definitions of Genius. What are the shared strategies of geniuses? How does your Genius Hour project encourage you to use some of these strategies?
The author's interpretation of Genius is based on creativity and a way of thinking and seeing the world. This contrasts the conventional definition of genius because the author does not base "genius" off of how high a person's IQ is. The author thinks that being a genius comes from the way someone solves a problem, expresses their thoughts and ideas, or relates two things to make more sense to them. A strategy used by geniuses is looking at problems in many different ways. DaVinci believed that teaching yourself to reconstruct a problem in many different ways would help you to gain knowledge. This strategy uses a lot of creativity because it involves thinking about something in different ways than you ordinarily might. Another strategy is to make your thoughts visible. I use this skill quite often, whether I'm drawing a picture, writing down key words to help remember things, or journaling whatever random thoughts come into my head. I have used this when it comes to my Genius Hour project for brainstorming. It really helps me to write down words, and I applied this to the plans of my project.
